14 - Days / 13 - Nights
Arrive at Haneda Airport and be escorted to your hotel in Tokyo. You check in your room.
Your guide or conductor will show you around your hotel.
Begin your day in Harajuku with a peaceful visit to Meiji Shrine, dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his wife.
Afterward, stroll down Takeshita Street filled with quirky boutiques, animal cafés, and colorful sweets—you may even spot cosplayers.
In the afternoon, head to Shibuya to see the loyal Hachiko dog statue and the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing.
Start your morning with a visit to the Tokyo Skytree observation deck for sweeping panoramic views of the city below.
Continue on to Asakusa to see the iconic Kaminarimon Gate, explore Senso-ji Temple, and stroll along the lively Nakamise shopping street with free time to sample traditional snacks and shop for souvenirs.
In the late afternoon, visit a Deaf-owned ramen shop for dinner.
Travel to Kamakura and explore its ancient temples. Visit Kotoku-in to see the Great Buddha, followed by Hasedera Temple with one of Japan’s largest wooden Kannon statues.
Then continue to Hakone Yumoto for your traditional ryokan stay. Enjoy a relaxing onsen bath and a seasonal Japanese dinner.
After breakfast, enjoy a full circular tour of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, one of Japan’s most scenic regions. Ride steep mountain trains, cable cars, and ropeways over the volcanic valley of Owakudani. Cruise across the calm waters of Lake Ashi with possible views of Mount Fuji on clear days.
In the late afternoon, board the Shinkansen for your first-ever bullet train ride as you travel to Takayama.
Explore Takayama, a beautifully preserved mountain town founded in the 16th century. Visit the lively Miyakawa Morning Market and stroll through the old merchant neighborhoods. Enter Takayama Jinya, the only surviving shogunate government office in Japan.
Enjoy free time along Sannomachi Street, known for its traditional shops, small sake breweries, and the option to dress in kimono.
Travel to Shirakawago, a UNESCO World Heritage village famous for its gassho-zukuri farmhouses, once hidden deep in the mountains and largely isolated for centuries.
Walk through Ogimachi Village and enjoy panoramic views from the hillside observatory. Enter a traditional farmhouse to learn about historic rural life and seasonal farming traditions. And enjoy a farm-style lunch before continuing on to Kanazawa.
Begin in Nagamachi, one of Japan’s best-preserved samurai districts with narrow historic lanes. Visit the ruins of Kanazawa Castle for a glimpse into the city’s feudal past. Continue to Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan’s most beautiful gardens, then enjoy lunch at Omicho public market.
End the day at Higashi Chaya, the preserved geisha district, with traditional teahouses and famous gold-topped ice cream.
Travel by express train to Hiroshima, a city dedicated to peace, resilience, and remembrance. Take a guided walking tour through Peace Memorial Park, visiting landmarks that share the story of the atomic bombing. Enter the Peace Memorial Museum to view powerful exhibits and personal testimonies.
And enjoy free time on Hondori Street with an optional dinner of Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki.
Board a ferry to the sacred island of Miyajima, one of Japan’s most celebrated spiritual destinations. Visit the iconic floating torii gate and Itsukushima Shrine, changing with the tides. Explore Daisho-in Temple with its stone statues and eternal flame.
Enjoy free time on Omotesando Arcade with shopping, local snacks, and an optional lunch of Hiroshima oysters, grilled, steamed, fried or raw.
Travel to Kyoto and visit Kiyomizudera, a UNESCO World Heritage Buddhist temple founded in 778 AD, famous for its wooden stage built without a single nail. Walk through the Higashiyama district, an old merchant street lined with tea houses, cafés, souvenir shops, and artisan studios.
And walk down the streets to see the Yasaka Pagoda and other Kyoto Landmarks including the Philosopher’s path.
End the day is at Yasaka Shrine that leads to the historic Gion district, where geisha culture continues today.
Visit Kinkaku-ji, the famous Golden Pavilion covered in gold leaf. Continue to Ninna-ji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its temple grounds and cherry blossoms. In the afternoon, explore Arashiyama, including Togetsukyo Bridge, the bamboo forest, and Gio-ji Temple with its moss garden.
Enjoy time surrounded by Arashiyama natural beauty, rivers, and forested paths.
Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine and walk beneath thousands of red torii gates climbing the hillside.
After lunch, travel to Nara, Japan’s first permanent capital, founded in 710 AD. Stroll through Nara Park among the friendly, free-roaming deer. Visit Todaiji Temple, home to the massive Great Buddha statue.
Return to Kyoto for the rest of the evening and packing.
Transfer from your Kyoto hotel to the Shinkansen platform. Travel comfortably back to Tokyo for hotel check-in or direct airport transfer.
